Ridge Marching Band competition in 2 places

Ridge Marching Band was awarded second place on the Saturday of the New Jersey State Group IIIA Championship, in competition with the 18 bands was held at Sewell. The Band faced competition next weekend in Pennsylvania.

Marching band continued what has been very successful season in 2011 that night, the band's publicity Chairman, Don Grossmann. Compete against other bands in the same classification (band 56-75 members), Ridge was awarded a score of 92.925, following only the Pequannock high school.

Ridge HIGH SCHOOL in Warren, were outscored North champion group IIIA in 2009 and 2010, he said.

Although Ridge has no record of competition from the years prior to 2008, the result is probably the band's highest ever score in the placement and the events of the US Scholastic Band Association (USSBA). The previous high score is Ridge's 88.075 in the Northern States Championship last year.

Ridge Marching Band Director And Zugale described the performance as "remarkable achievements", especially since he says the Group IIIA very competitive this year.
